I sure Fitzy will agree with me that the intention was never to try and create another "Jurbassic Park" like NPD, and truth be told it would probably not be possible with this lake.

Totally Shayne  :thumbsup

Rather an attempt has been made to find enough money to create a heavily stocked fishery which will hopefully allow meatos to get a feed and inexperienced fishos a better than average chance to catch a couple. Fortunately enough money was found to stock the lake to full capacity within the first two years of operation and funding to continue for the next 5 years along this path has been secured. With a little more time, Kurwongbah will be a great asset for the region.

Thanks for the insight I have gained a better understanding and I am glad I posted the article now.  It's the knowledge and hard work of those that participate in these forums and I am sure many others who may not that will ensure the sustainable management of these fisheries in the future.  I look forward to contributing in any way possible.

You are correct though that this lake will be an asset to the region in the future.

Again Regards and Thanks to all who contribute,
Colin

Sorry Shayned,

My attempt to use the quote key ended in an epic fail  :(  The first paragraph of my last post was a direct quote from Shayned.  Thanks Shayned I appreciate your input  :thumbsup  Scrolling down I think I just worked out how to use the quote button.......lol.

Really?? I used to live locally & spent many days there learning about the lake & its inhabitants. I have never (not even once) seen a ski boat on there.

Was it during the drought? the ski boats were off for a long time when the water level was low. I drive past it on the way to work everyday, and I would see a ski boat passing Mick Haffling Park once or twice  a week, just in that 3 or 4 minutes as I go past.
