Title: Camping/Fishing spots suggestions in nsw?

Hi everyone!
I'm brand new here and would love some advice. I was thinking about whisking hubby away for a couple of nights camping for his birthday this weekend as a surprise. I'm looking for somewhere with 3-4hrs from home(Newcastle) where we can camp & fish right on a river/dam/lake, just somewhere really nice and relaxing.
We won't have a boat so somewhere we can fish off the shore. I'd love some suggestions as I have absolutely NO IDEA!
I don't care about amenities apart from some kind of toilet and the quieter the better!

you could try lake liddell between singleton an muswellbrook......chaffey dam just past nundle...windamere past rylstone.. all have fish and you can fish the bank easy enough...rick
