Hi Everyone,
Seeking some technical advice thanks. Am, thinking of buying one of the new Down Scan Imaging (DSI) sounders for my Hobie Outback. I have historically always glued the transducer inside the hull for a number of reasons, but mainly to protect it. But with the new technology of DSI I wonder whether gluing the tranny inside will give a good read-out? I’m a newbie on this new technology. So would appreciate advice from those in the know thanks?
Thanks,
Pete

You could always wet mount it or get one of the through scupper transducer kits ( about $50 ) . I've just fitted my elite 5 dsi through the scuppers and the readings are crystal clear , no messy silicon or silastic either ;)

Thanks, Brez. But only scupper holes available on the Hobie Outback are those behind the seat, which I need to use for the trolley wheels. I will try the wet mount approach and take it from there. Cheers, Pete
