Kept 2 of those big turkeys 581mm and 584mm going to try and grow them into unicorns just for Dale :popcorn)
this would be the best way to see if they reach the length or die of old age, how long do you think it will take to get the extra 16mm?

You can borrow mine then, reckon that 584 will hit 60 on it   ;)

I've seen an ANSA one that was 70mm out.

Always interesting to put an accurate measure on the various mats. NSW Fisheries mat and Alvey plastic ruler are spot on though.

And so is the metre sticker from Charlton's, well the one on my paddle is anyway  :youbeauty

I don't count any bass just touching the 60 mark as a unicorn, it has to be minimum 61 for me to call it. Here's hoping someone will eventually crack it  :popcorn)

Absolutely none unfortunately, I'll keep trying  :Hunting) Any bass over 50 is a unit fish though and I'm just happy to have a 55 tip  under my belt, I'm amazed with the quality of fish that some guys can consistently pull. My hat is off to them.

I've bought a lot of ANSA mats for friends and members and checked them all and have never seen one even 7mm out let alone 70, something not right there, on the other hand I've never seen a shop bought mat that is accurate when layed flat which is near impossible anyway with the sewn edges (the ANSA mats don't have sewn edges and lay flat no mater what the temperature), my old BCF mat was 15mm out and I took a pic of a mates shimano mat yesterday and it's 10mm out at 600, these pics are of my 3 year old mat (not stretched and no one holding the ends) and it still shows the same measurement as the day I got it.

ANSA mats are accurate, the pic Dale is referring to would best explain his comment. It is in one of the unicorn threads somewhere  :popcorn)

Dale is talking about my fish at the start of the season, I lived two weeks thinking I cracked it. Only to find that the ANSA mat was stuck together at the zero fold. Hence the 70mm out.
