Title: Golden Perch at Don MacPherson Hatchery
Post by: Sweetwater on November 15, 2010, 12:48:49 AM
Called into the Don MacPherson Memorial Fish Hatchery yesterday.

The sad news is that the spawnings of Silver Perch failed due to a fungal infection, however the good news is that there's a good number of Golden Perch fry feeding well.

Another spawn of silvers is hoped to be put down in a couple of weeks.

Cheers,

fitzy..

Good news on the yella's.

How do you combat the fungus, some sort of mild bleach or light salt content of the water?

I believe in this case they dumped the eggs & sterilised all equipment used. Have another attempt in a couple of weeks I think.
