Title: Potential Unicorns.
Post by: rayke1938 on July 04, 2012, 08:50:36 PM
Been getting a few bass at both NPD and Baroon Pocket with tails like this. Potential unicorns in around 10 years?
 Cheers

Interesting... Rather than having an extra bit of fin in the middle, I think that fish may be missing some off the lobes of the tail? If that's the case and you're getting a few of them, I recon they might end up getting short changed if those fin rays don't re-grow.

Here is another, if you look close you can see the normal tail at bottom and an addittional tail at top, there was also a tail wrist on the top tail which is hard to see in pic

The ones I have been getting at NPD have all been around that size which would put them all in the same stocking year ( 2 yr old?) but the baroon ones are over 40 and Baroon has not been stocked for over 4 years.
No idea of the fingerling suppliers to the old Baroon stocking group but the majority of NPD fish would have been from Bill Proctor as Gwen would have been out of the picture 2 years ago. ( I think)
Cheers
