The low bridge is still under.

Thanks for the pics. Can hardly recognize the place.

I sort of remember the aftermath of '74 on the river, we used to canoe/camp at Twinnies and the old Northbrook bridge(now under L. Wivenhoe) nearly every month. I don't remember it being as bad as this looks, but surprisingly the regrowth didn't take long to make it all look nice again.

Brad, according to Reuben, Fitz' neighbour, who owned all the river flats between Fitz place and the river, this flood was one metre deeper than '74. His son's house stayed dry in '74 but didn't this year. The Lockyer was running a lot higher this time. He's still got the boat he used to rescue people from Coominya in '74. He said it was an easy trip from Lowood to Coominya by boat, as long as you watched out for live powerlines.

Pic 74 is where the low bridge is. You can also see Fernvale's power supply falling into the river. That explains the two generators Energex has set up in town. Lowood/Fernvale road was cut again this morning following a rock slide during last night's storm. We had 80mm in an hour.

Those dead fish are getting a bit rank . There's a new lake in the gravel quarry near the twinnys turnoff , must be some liveys in there as there were plenty of pelicans working it over .
Cheers,
Dave.

This is an awesome time to go kill the remaining Chinese Elm & Mulberry trees & plant some natives. Might give the mate in council a call & see what trees are available. :thumbsup

I went and had a personal look today and the pics do not do the area justice.
Totally mind blowing.
The amout of dead fish in and around the area was also a shock.
Then top it all off, I went and had a look at the area below the dam wall. Hoooooooolllllllllllly wow can not believe it. Man that place has had some tremendous force go through it. Un recognisable in some ways.
