Lake Somerset changes are on the way
 Date:  04/07/2014  - Seqwater

Paddle craft and fishing enthusiasts will be excited to hear that construction on the new access point at the northern end of Lake Somserset off Westvale Road is underway. It is anticipated that this will be completed in August. This project is being implemented with the support of the Department of National Parks, Recreation, Sport and Racing – Getting more people active through sport and recreation. Stay tuned for further updates.

Due to the safety risks posed by submerged hazards, a 6 knot speed limit in the northern part of Lake Somerset has been endorsed by Marine Safety Queensland (MSQ). Signage will be erected at all launch points advising of the 6 knot speed limit area. Seqwater staff will continue to actively patrol the lake, and will monitor speeding in this northern area. Details of the boundaries of the zone can be viewed HERE>>> (http://www.previous.seqwater.com.au/sites/default/files/PDF%20Documents/Recreation/20140328_Lake_Somerset_Maritime_Safety_A3.pdf) or see attachment below.

I think you need a PIN for the gate but I also think they issue you one for the day free.
