Great Lake Tie In

Graham Blight, coordinator, privided us this report on the recent Great Lake Tie In:

After a 10 to 12 year break the once Bronte Tie - In was restarted at the Miena Community Hall on the 18th.Oct.

The Tie - In is a coming together of fly tiers from around the State to share ideas with each other and the general public. Fly Tying has been around for about 600 years using the same
type of method tying fur and feather onto a hook to catch fish. Of course hooks have changed from bone to metal but the use of natural materials remain the same. Many new additional types of materials are used in today's tying. The Tie - In was represented by 6 clubs from around the state, with around 18 tyers willing to show to public what it was all about. Throughout the day we had a steady stream of fishers and public taking great =interest in this form of lure making.

The release of the new edition of Australia's Best Trout Flies Revisited
was also a big draw card. The organizers wish to thank the Inland Fisheries and all the supporters and sponsors to get the Tie - In off and running again.
