Title: Easter Toga wanted!
Post by: Capitan Morgan on April 21, 2011, 06:55:57 PM
Never caught one, I was planning on going to Borumba this weekend and targeting them, but I am a bit concerned that the Skiers may rock me round a bit in the canoe. Besides the ski boats, there is no camp spots left up that way. Is there any other good spots to target them?

Hinze Dam is producing very good saratoga apparently. Steve Morgan (Fishing Monthly Group) called this morning & said he fished there this week and caught more saratoga than bass.  :thumb

Borumba Dam of course is the home of saratoga in SEQ and Lake MacDonald does well at times as well.

Cheers,

fitzy..

Not really .... the only place you can fish from the shore at Hinze is at the boat ramps but not allot of room at the best of times, Traffic  makes it worse

I went to Borumba but did not venture into the dam as it was like a whirlpool with boats trolling human live baits at crazy speeds. I fished the creek with no luck at all. I did met a couple of fellas paddling also, one of which said he caught a small bass under the rail bridge and got busted up on something further up stream but It was all pretty quiet.

Might have to hit Hinze in the next couple of weeks, is it now covered by SIPS?

Nope still not under the SIP scheme and doubt it ever will be.

It does put off a fair few people.

Me? Never.........

I just recon it makes sense to bring Hinze Dam (Lake Advancetown) on line with other stocked lakes. Easier on policy makers, easier to police, cheeper to administer one overall system as opposed to many smaller ones. Note that there were separate user pays systems at Cooby, Cressbrook & Glenlyon dams, all have dropped these to come join the SIP.

The writting is on the wall IMHO.

Cheers,

fitz..

Steve, GCCC have been out of the picture for a couple of years now on both the lake and wall mate
