Duds, is Rotary doing it to raise money for anything in particular, or just for their usual community efforts.
It is a dam I've not fished before, so I am tempted to come for a look, even if not for a fish.

Hi.
We are looking at fish restocking and our general community charities such as the Hospice, Merci Family Services etc as well as overseas ventures such as Rainbow House in Africa, Helping Hands over Peru. We have given monies to Vanuatu for the cyclone relief and I am sure that Nepal will be on the radar now given what has happened. Cressbrook is a great location and has good camping grounds with showers and toilets etc. I know there will be a lot of us out there camping before the event. Cheers Duds

Is Cressbrook Dam and Lake Cressbrook same same?? Maps show a Lake but not a dam.
The website needs more info, no starting/finish times, no meeting places, no links to get a lic, no prize categories etc. Not winging but you need to have this sort of info or you will miss possible entrants. You need to make it as easy as possible for non locals.
Good Luck hope it kicks off.

Generally speaking a dam is the rock, earth & concrete across a river or creek etc. The lake is the water that is impounded by a dam.
Some have a dam name & lake name eg Bjelke-Peterson Dam makes Lake Barambah. North Pine Dam is the million tonnes of concrete across the North Pine River & the lake where you fish or swim is Lake Samsonvale.
Others have the same name eg Moogerah Dam & Lake Moogerah.

lol, actually lakes are natural forming and all dams are man made. I was assuming in this case they were both the same but wasn't 100% sure. Was looking at how long to get there etc as would like to fish it and was going to register, however i decided too early at this stage due to the little info available. That was my point, i was happy to register right there and then but didn't as there wasn't enough info to hook me on an impulse registration. Now i will wait for more info to be posted and possibly miss it. I wasn't trying to have a dig, more like constructive criticism than anything.

Don't leave it too late, the camp ground will fill up quickly. I fished one in about 1996 and it was massive back then.

Good to know thanks, do you know what time it starts and finishes? No way of contacting them on their site.

I googled Toowoomba Rotary and got their contact details here:
