I Caught Fourstrokeitis and The Mojo is Back

As some of you know I've had fishing mojo problems, with my last bass being caught 7 weeks ago. That was until I got myself up outta bed this morning grabed the prowler and headed to Heart Attack Hill.

I launched at 6.30am and set off upstream (I wanted to get away from the dirty water coming from the Lockyer) I paddled up about 40m past the junction where the water looked nice. Not only was the water clear but the surface was absolutely alive.

First cast I hooked up instantly but it snapped. I put on another tt spiner bait (3/8oz black and gold - same as my last) I cast again,  another hook up and another snap (I was using 6lb Line).

Getting angry having lost two spinnerbaits in two casts i decided it was time for a troll. I flicked out and started to paddle, 4 strokes in and I got my first a nice 44cm bass.

Excited I cast again as soon as I let him go. Two strokes and i got 48cm.

After that things went bad I started getting all dizzy and sweaty and thats when I realised I had fourstrokeitis a rare condition I had only seen once.

Then it was clear I just had to spend the rest of my time trolling and I did.

By 8.20am I had 23 bass (3 - 50cm+, 17 - 40cm+ and 3 - 30cm+) and  2 Tilapia (stowed in the hatch for proper disposal). I decided to head back I caught another 3 bass by the time I got back to the murky water, I kept trolling through the brown stuff but didn't get a hit.

The prowler then dragged me up the hill as I had a burning pain in my chest about halfway up.

By 8.45am was all packed up and ready to head home after a great morning session.

Great work Al.  Hoping to get to that stretch myself in the next few days.  Better get the spinners ready by the sound of it!

Glad the water is clearer up past the junction, coz it's pretty average downstream.  Had a look at Lowood Bend on Monday and it was terrible.

  About time you took a camera with you Al . Welldone.

I rolled a donut there late on Saturday arvo except for a single catty. Even Shines Rd has it ups and downs .
