Yellow Tandan
« on: May 07, 2016, 05:00:17 PM »
Mate caught a 46cm yellow tandan in the hinze this morning.
I remember catching white ones in the Condamine at Condamine 60 years ago and caught another white one at Warwick a couple of years ago but always assumed that was because of the muddy Condamine.
The photo does not give the colour justice.
Cheers
Ray

Leucistic maybe? From the picture it lacks the red eyes to be albino.

Cool looking fish none the less.  :youbeauty

Cheers,
Dave.

There is a white variety of our eel-tailed catfishes called a "Moonfish" from memory. Think they're a western species, which may account for some of the albino reports from out that way. Hinze? Just a color morph of regular tandan I'm guessing.

Thanks for sharing Ray  :thumbsup

Thanks to Ray for another fantastic day on the water. We got a few fish rather than lots but they were excellent quality with most around 40cms or more.

Got my second best Bass at 55cms - what a ripper! Then to absolutely top the day was Dennis' spectacular yellow Tandan. Never seen a fish like it.

The eyes appeared normal colour to me. Dennis thought they looked blue. Have attached another pic of the Tandan being released and one of my 55cm Bass.

Fantastic day and thanks again to Ray.
