"MPs voted 46 to 41 against the disallowance motion put forward by Opposition fisheries spokeswoman Deb Frecklington."
I thought she was on the side of us rec fishers??? Why then would she want net free zones stopped?

From memory, the LNP were not really arguing about having net free zones, they did not agree with the wording of the motion which I believe can become extremely generous to the pro fishermen who have to stop netting. Their motion was not against net free zones at all, it was a motion against motion. Unfortunately we'll never ever get an accurate story from the press. It may be worth writing to Deb and asking her, she's normally very helpful. I think she is your representative isn't she?
