slow and steady bass
« on: October 06, 2010, 08:01:14 PM »
I really must get a program to shrink photos.

Went out to a bit of a secret water hole on a small clear creek today around midday after finishing my caretaking duties to throw some lures around with a mate, He started the session off with a small bass nothing anywhere near writting home about. They where chasing lures with intent but not taking untill a small shower went around us and it was like golden hr with 7 bass landed out of the one pond in an just shy of an hr on jitterbugs and water beatle imitations ill post the make when i remember!

none went over 25cm  but still good fun after work, heading to maroon tomorrow hope they are on the chew a bit with this weather being percularly muggy  :thanks

happy fishin ya'll

steve

Nice pictures Steve.

That Crimson Spotted Rainbowfish is a male & it may have just been showing off think it a rival, tho they rarely actually enter into fisticuffs. If you've ever watched them in tanks they're great to watch when showing off their colors; mornings are the best.

Thanks for posting.  :thumbsup

Yes very nice indeed the colours especially under a nice light.

Went to Maroon today for a fish and a put around in the tiny i dont know if it was me or the company but i couldnt get any bass to play with my lures. No lack of encouragement from the spangled perch population, visibilty to what i would imagine is 3 or 4m on the edge and there are schools upon school nearly plagues of them and not small either ! took a few home for a feed for my pop least i could do after all he gave me my outboard and new wheels and axle for my bot trailer !

Spotted a pair of custard heads nesting in a hollow tree aswell only managed to get a distant snap of one.

cheers

steve
