Here's a few more pictures of Lake Wuruma as the lake rose quite dramatically in a very short period just before Xmas 2010 as the state of Queensland was devastated by the floods especially in Central Queensland. The lake rose about 70% in a short period of just over a week to being 100% full.

The first couple of pictures are a before and after shot of a point that produced fish before the rise. It was awesome to see how much of a dramatic change the lake underwent within a period of half a day with so much rain falling in the catchment area.

The next pictures are of the Cattle Yards which won't be seen for some time I'm assuming so I thought they'd be worthy of posting. They are positioned on the left hand side before the Nogo River narrows as you travel upstream.

As the water rose, many birds lost their young still nesting from Spring to a watery grave including the nests of our native parrots to which they make upright hollow trees on the lake, their home.

The other two is of the Sunset looking back towards the dam wall and the other is of the weed and floaters being pushed from one end of the lake to the other from the wind and currents that were forever changing as the water rose.

Cheers Dave

I reckon there'd be very few anglers out there since Xmas Scott. It was fishing pretty well before it rose mate apparently. We had a chat to a farmer who was on the water with his young boys inspecting his stock wondering if any had been stuck on an island opposite the campgrounds who had a couple of good sessions a couple of weeks before Xmas.

Has anyone fished Wuruma lately?
Is the stocking group still actively restocking Barra?

Cheers
