I've heard reports of a lot of fish being caught in the 60 to 70cm size bracket.

Thats good to see, maybe next year, the fish will be back up around the metre mark and we can have some fun. Just a shame the flood washed a lot away, bloody criminal seeing all those dead fish. :-[

Take your Bass gear and you'll have a lot of fun with the fish that are there.

I hit dam last week and its a total waste of time in the main basin, fishin been up and down with everyone heading right upstream to fish are the fish are supposed to be, as an inexperienced barra fisho didn't catch anything personally but locals swore it's been good.

Just back from a week up there with a mate.We were trolling and Mate caught one barra (75cm) dropped another ,one tandan,2 forkies and a donut for me.
The tandan was caught in 60 feet of water.
My excuse was that i was too busy utilising my skills and knowledge putting my decky onto the fish. ;D
Fish being caught well upstream in insane bay casting suspending lures to the bank and timbers. There was a good bite last Monday with one group of 3 boats landing 16 barra between 50cm and 80cm but other days they were only getting ones and twos.
We are too old to stand and cast all day and spent around 6 hours a day trolling the main basin, bird bat, a, the first cut through ( All fish caught there ) jacks ,B .
I would strongly advise going out with the local guide ( $75 per hour min 3 hours everything provided)
He is a decent bloke and was one of the few  boaters who slowed down when coming close to us when we were trolling,
 Cheers
Ray
