Norm Edwards and Les Barlow lures, Collect or sell?
« on: October 15, 2016, 08:20:55 AM »
Just going thru the Shed for a northern Barra Trip.
A few older Lures that popped up.

 Norm Edwards 25/1
A few chips from Old Tackle Box
 Les Barlow Big Squirt.
 Les Barlow Lil-Bug
 Les Barlow Sleetie
Les Barlows are in unused condition.

What would be the best way of working out if they are worth Collecting or Selling.

Went to the Lure show in Ipswich on the way south, but didn't have them with me.

Also lots of older Nilmasters from early 80s, probably fitted with Eagle Claw 3X from NT Barra time.

I have had the best results casting and retrieving Les Barlow lures. They are not the greatest looking lures but have a terrific action. Les says that fish are not art critics that is why his paint work is not as good as other lures.

Thank you for the response, have used a few over the years and passed on free to others.
Just trying to cut down on my lures as over 400 hardbodies and my main interest is Barramundi.
Also do a fair bit  with estuary fishing and these lures, sort of fit outside that criteria.
Do I just put them away in the tackle boxes, some of which haven't been opened for decades.
Or do I move them on and stick to what I currently use.
The shed/garage is getting a new Van and the space is getting limited.
The advice from SWMBO is We need to cut back.
Just bought another dozen or so Barra lures for a trip north.
Also hundred of plastics, (Packets this is).
Fishing Tackle Australia is my Bunnings and is so handy.

It would be up to you if you keep them or get rid of them but they are good lures with VMC hooks and strong rings. I would give them a go on Barra and see what happens. I know that they are good on yellas and Cod as I have experienced first hand. No matter what you do with them they are a good lure. If you decide to sell them they should go like hot cakes.
