Title: Wyaralong Dam Recreation Notice
Post by: Editor on May 08, 2015, 11:38:04 PM
Wyaralong - Lilybrook paddle craft launch point closed from 11am, Thursday 7 May
Date: 07/05/2015   - from Seqwater

In the interests of public safety, the lagoon adjoining Lilybrook Recreation Area at Wyaralong has been temporarily closed to all water-based recreation activities from 11am, Thursday 7 May 2015.

The paddle craft access has been closed due to recent inflows into the lake following the rainfall event. Signage will be placed on site advising of the temporary closure.

Please play it safe and observe  signage and staff on site.  We are unable to advise how long the launch point will remain closed. Re-opening the lake will depend on acceptable water quality tests.

Further updates will be provided on our website and through social media.

Thank you for your patience.

Wyaralong - Lilybrook paddle craft launch point re-opens from 6am, Friday 15 May 2015
Date: 14/05/2015

The lagoon adjoining Lilybrook Recreation Area at Wyaralong, and the paddle craft launch point, will re-open from 6am, Friday 15 May 2015.

The latest water quality results at Wyaralong indicate it is acceptable to re-open the lake for the permitted on water recreation activities.

Please play it safe when visiting Lake Wyaralong and ensure you are prepared for the unexpected. While our rangers regularly patrol our dams, lakes and parks, they can't be everywhere at once.

Hi all

Our club is having an exploratory trip to the dam this Sunday. Meeting at the dam wall. some have yaks and some don't.

Is there any accessible areas other than around the boat ramp for land-based fly fishing.

Cheers

Norm (Brisbane Fly Fishing Club)

The western trailhead where the  "you are here " along the shared access road to the canoe access is on the map at the top end of the dam from there has access right along the dam but can be overgrown in places and can be a long walk but fish have been caught up along there on fly
