Title: Bass fishing Mann river
Post by: iamsam on September 28, 2013, 07:08:40 PM
I have been thinking of doing a week long canoeing trip along the Mann river around the Jackadgery area. Has anyone fished this area or can give me any pointers or advice on fishing this area? I am thinking of going in march/April next year.

Sam,
Check the NSW Fisheries website on closures. The Mann is closed from its junction with the Nymboida to where it joins the Clarence at certain times for the breeding time of Eastern Cod. If you have a look at Google Earth Jackadgery you will see there's road that cuts across the Mann at various places and where there is free camping available. PM me if you want.
Cheers,
John

Sam, Just had a look at some pics of a trip I did through there recently. The Mann is closed to all forms of fishing from the 1st August to 30th Oct. See pic.

JD I was going to go after summer heat dies down a bit in march/April. I have seen some pictures of some pretty serious rapids which I would need to portage around. As I search the net and speak to people who have been there I am getting a picture of what to expect. As the trip gets closer I might give you a pm to suss out a few things if that's ok
