2015 Bass Season openers?
« on: September 01, 2015, 11:17:35 PM »
Well someone has to kick off  :D
My son Jules and I went walking down the backyard this arvo looking for a season opener and I found one (33cm).  Jules is having a major re-interest in his fishing since an accident put him out of BMX action and I have been flat out keeping up with his interest.  He laid down the rules that we were not to use our usual goto lures i.e. spinner baits, and he has been going through all the old lures in the boys jewellery boxes (otherwise known as a tackle boxes) - cleaning them up and putting new trebles on etc... I was using a little Nilsmaster Invincible this arvo - probably more than 30 years old but it still works good!  Jules and I plan to keep track of the number and metres of bass we catch this season plus largest individual... anyone want to nominate some odds and have a little wager feel free  ;)

Sounds like a fun challenge. My fishing mate laughs at some of the things my missus uses to catch fish. He suggests she might even try onion rings, but the funny thing is .... she does catch fish !!!
Good on ya, and good luck.

I'll bet a lure that the lad will beat dad by 10% on the total season length.  :popcorn)
