Title: Bass season in qld rivers.
Post by: Freshwater Newby77 on April 30, 2014, 12:33:57 PM
According to DAFF,Bass season is closed from June 1st thru to August 31st.
They also state that there is no closed season for stock impoundments(Somerset,Wivenhoe etc).
Is this information up to date and accurate,or does someone have something to the contrary?
Cheers,
              Marty.

Current closed season regs, may be some changes ie. a couple of impoundments added when the draft RIS is released  :popcorn)

What elops is saying is that your information is currently correct.  It will be illegal to catch, target or pursue Bass outside of those Stocked Impoundments for that time period.

Thanks Aussiebasser.I kind of figured that out.I have laminated pics of any freshwater fish i am likely to come across, size and bags limits too.It seems there are a few here and there, that may not be aware of some of these take limits. That or they don't care.I'm strictly a catch and release(i can't eat seafood,go figure).
The young fella wants to catch and cook his own fish. Thanks for your reply.

If you ever fish the upper Brisbane river, the white bucket of death brigade tend to catch kill and destroy everything, also leave a mess everywhere. Try talking to them about bag limits and they suddenly become very hostile or forget how to speak..
