Title: Hot day = Hot bite
Post by: 4weightfanatic on October 09, 2012, 07:53:44 PM
I had a great day chasing the local bass on the fly rod last Sunday despite the gusty NW wind. Seems the hot weather got the bass in an eager mood landing six bass from the same snag 5 in 40 mins and another two hours later passing by on the paddle home. I started the day with a small #4 Dalhberg Diver fly that got wacked by three different bass on separate snags but failed to connect so changed to a Diving floating Wiggle Minnow which proved to be a good move. The best fish came in at 34 TTF with the rest young fellas between 23-28 cm. The snag was nothing to write home about but it's position being the closest bit of structure to the head of the pool suggests to me they were waiting for rain to move further upstream. They were caught using a floating line on my #6 weight rod. Cheers Pat.

Nice session Pat

still marvel at the wand but hope never to get the bug. Have enough rods.
