Nice grunters Joey - just a tip, in freshwater, your only allowed one hook on a line.

so we ended up at moogerah , tryed lures in dam and creeck below didn t get any action there , just had one 15 cm silver fish on a hand line , used cod worms , would a bass take a live worm? because when i got back from lure fishing , the hand line was snaged around a log under water near bank , and i went out to get it seen a silver fish come of end off line under water , same shape as bass , but not sure .

Shouldnt be leaving set lines unatended Joey plus the creek immediatly below the dam wall has a 400 meter no fishing zone beyond that is fine.

Better fishing where you live below moogerah gets hammerd

Sorry dont know that creek, have you thought about Colleges crossing to amuse the family? apparently it has just been re-openned, as has Kookaburra park.

Set lines are fine Joey, (as long as your in Qld) you just have to stay close to them. Should be marked with a tag with your name on it though.

Set lines are a hanger-on to past generations where it was ok to shamelessly rape and kill anything that moved to feed families breaking in a nation. Now a days much of Australia has outlawed their use. In reality it is a lazy way to fish which in indescriminate in fish caught and often killed. In water where there is critically endangered Mary River Cod set lines should not be used at all.

Joey, my father went out to Haig park yesterday, just below the wall at Moogerah Dam, got 5 bass sitting in his arm chair fishing off the bank.

The fishing was a bit quiet there yesterday.
But the scenery gave us something to look at. About 6 blokes and their girlfriends swimming and playing with a yak. The girls seemed to have forgotten to bring along their bikini tops.
Usually get some respectable yellas after 3pm.
I think that all the big bass have been eaten the largest only would have been just legal.
All caught on live shrimp.
No need to walk any distance just park your car and walk straight down to a shady spot. The bass will be hanging out in the shade of the trees.
Sorry about picture quality as I had butter from my sangas on the lens.
Cheers
Ray
