Got this pic of stalkbook, not sure if it's done the rounds here yet or not. If it has admin can remove the post. But its as close to the magic 60cm I've ever seen.

That is one hell of a fish.

Did they saw where the fish came from?

Anymore details ? Looks to be caught on one of the Nordic stage rods. Dino got the biggest bass I ever seen and measured properly and it's a whisker short of the magic 60

There wasn't a prize beau, there was a bet.  I had offered $100 worth of gear from the Sweetwater shop if anyone could post a genuine pic of a 60cm fish on a measuring mat.  It certainly brought out those with a knack for stretching fish.  I did award the gear to a member here.  For those interested, this is how the Queensland authorities measure fish, and why the ABT insist on a fork measurement even though Qld regs are for overall length.

If you measured a 30cm Bass in the same manner as the fish above was measured, you would be charged for having an undersize fish.  It is a good fish though, and I'd be interested to know where it was caught.  The guy who posted the pic to the Ecogear site is from Bundy, so maybe Isis?

I'm not suggesting fork length beau.  Both flukes of the tail should reach the 60cm mark (as in the DAFF picture).  Having one side at 61 and one side at 58 sort of tells me that fish is not quite 60.  But that doesn't matter, it's a nice fish, and if the guy who caught it believes it's 60 then it's his call.  Some of the comments FB are classics though, one guy got a 64 the day before another got a 63 at Moogerah I think, someone else got a huge one at the top of the Clarence, none had cameras with them though.  And that was the origin of my bet, I stated then that of all the 60cm fish I've heard of over the last 20 years, I've never seen a genuine photo proving one was dead set 60.

It's on the "BASS Australia Nation" FB page mate and it links to Ecogear's FB page which links to the guy who caught it.

Those mats are +1cm at the 60cm mark ie 59 not 60
Only plastic mats that are 60 at 60 are the ANSA ones and the NSW DPI ones.

I agree with aussiebasser - BOTH flukes of the tail should measure 60 before a fish should be considered a true unicorn. Bending the tail up or down to get one fluke there is just cheating. That said, it's a bloody good fish! Well done to the angler.
