Hint on safety
« on: February 03, 2014, 05:26:45 PM »
They say that experience is the best teacher, so how's this. I needed to retrieve a lure that had gone slightly astray on the other side of a branch. It was just over the other side of a larger branch about 9inches in diameter, and within easy reach. I thought no worries I'll just lean over that branch and pluck it off the one behind. Wrong. As I leant on the larger branch I found that it was basically powder and it collapsed. The end result was me in the drink. Didn't lose my rod though and got the lure. Trouble was I ended up with an injured arm and had to get back in the boat one armed. It all ended up OK but there's a moral, apart from improving my casting. That is make sure to check before you put your weight on any thing that's been in the water for a long time.

Thanks Fitzy, just got back from having an ultra sound done on it and looks like there's a slight tear in the bicep. May have to go to a surgeon. Hope not though
