Title: Lockyer Creek surface fun
Post by: Novice on November 19, 2011, 10:23:44 PM
With the Brisbane River running a bit high due to the recent release , we went for an evening sesh at O'reillys Weir on Lockyer Creek . Drove to the weir via Roseborough Rd and Keller Rd , parked by the track at the top and walked down to the weir to fish in the pool below.

Would have been nice to of got there a bit earlier as it was 8pm before we got to wet a line . Flicking surface lures , we had lots of hits , but only managed to land rats .

Only Bass landed except for a lone Spangled perch. In the dark we could hear plenty of fish trying to get up the fish ladder. The water level below the weir was a little higher than normal due to the Brisbane backing up the creek. Spoke to another fisho on the way in , they were worn out from slaying Tilapia on worm baits.

Cheers,
Dave.
