Enoggera Reservoir: Public safety notice

Date: 30/01/2015

Members of the public are putting their safety at risk by swimming and paddling near the spillway and dam wall.

Please play it safe when visiting Enoggera Reservoir – know the rules, use the designated areas and stay out of exclusion zones.

Swimming and paddling near the dam wall and in the spillway is very dangerous! An exclusion zone is established around these areas for your safety.

The designated areas for swimming and paddling are clearly marked with buoys on the water so you can to enjoy these activities safely, a safe distance from the exclusion zones.

Despite the safety measures taken by Seqwater to secure the area, members of the community are still illegally accessing this area at great risk to themselves and others.

As a result, we will increase patrols at Enoggera Reservoir to ensure there is appropriate use of the designated areas. However, our rangers can’t be everywhere to help you if something goes wrong.

If you see people near the spillway or dam wall, please call1800 771 497, or Police (000) if someone is in immediate danger.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss this issue further, please email communications@seqwater.com.au.
