Taxpayer and Corporate funds at work!!!
« on: August 21, 2013, 03:39:50 PM »
I was very fortunate to be on a conducted tour of the Fisheries Research Station at Woorim yesterday.
After a short overview by Peter Lee we were shown around by Matt Campbell and Luke ?.
They are doing some remarkable work with Cobia,Tuna and jungle perch.
I was too busy gawping to take any notes so I will let the photos tell the story. Sadly my photography skills and the slowness of my el cheepo camera were unable to capture the cobia feeding frenzy or cope with the reflections on the water.
 Cheers
Ray

Hope that the jungle perch breeding works out I would love to see them reintroduced into all suitable SEQ streams and maybe a few weirs and dams removed to allow a few more streams stocked.
If you ever get the opportunity to have a look at this place do not miss it.The work that they do and the dedication of the staff is amazing.
Cheers
Ray
