Baroon Pocket Helicopter landing pad.
« on: October 06, 2012, 12:19:37 PM »
I have been fishing Baroon pocket for many years now, and always wondered if the helicopter pad built out in to the lake was ever used.

Today a chopper showed up, landed, lapped the lake, landed again, then took off. It was only a tiny little thing, still looked like the landing spot was small for it, hate to see them try and land one of the  big rescue choppers there!

Upset the local lardarse pelican and shag population that takes up residence on the landing pad after about 6am as well!. They were doubly indignant as they had just waddled back in to their possy when he came in to land again!

Fishing musta been slow mate, although zoning out is all good when you're on the water. That looks like a Robinson 200, a two seater and very manouverable, they use them for Cattle mustering out west and you can land them anywhere. Is the pad connected to the land? or out in the lake.

Yeah, I caught zip, deckie got 4......

Landing pad is out in lake, at end of a rock groyne leading back to land. Ranger has 2 private boat ramps at base of it (one gravel, one half built new concrete one)

Might have to toss the deckie overboard mate, hogging all the fish like that.
