Question is, How do you rate the stability of the Old Town Pack Angler on a dam,say your caught out in a chop
How are they when standing for fly fishing ?

I haven't taken mine out in a serious chop, wouldn't like to be in that situation. Noting that I avoid that scenario on any kayak/canoe.
Can stand up if you want to, but really, I've rarely felt the need to stand.
I saw a guy on the river near here stand up in his OT Pack casting right the way up the river. Looked like he was doing it easy....
BTW, if you're looking at getting a Pack Angler, you're going to have to look around to find one. The price of Royalex just went thru the roof and therefore the price of the Pack Angler with it. This model is effectively being de ranged in Oz due to the cost. There is a replacement model coming that is made from Poly Link 3 instead of royalex, The Discovery 119. This unit will be alot cheaper, but a few KGs heavier.

I know it all comes down to the Grey matter between the ears of the one in control of canoe/yak, I too would avoid that scenario if possible
The light weight of the Pack Angler had me interested, mainly for river use but I look forward to seeing the Discovery 119

Sorry for the late reply, I've been away from SW for a while. I can stand in my pack angler on really calm water. It's not something I do often, just to stretch the legs. Great canoe, love the weight, the seats not bad but can be improved on(see Fitzys post), tracks well and good enough speed for me.
