Title: Twin Bridges to Lowood
Post by: aussiebasser on September 03, 2012, 06:44:07 AM
With Saturday being a write off due to a family wedding I couldn't hit the river until Sunday morning.  My nephew was up from Victoria for the wedding, and was keen for a fish.  We launched the tinnie at Twin Bridges and headed up past Beavers before we started fishing.  For those in boats, be careful where the river narrows at Beavers.  There is a length of rope under water than can grab your prop.  I'll be taking a knife next time to try to get rid of it.  Back to the fishing.  We fished from about Beavers up to the Lowood bend.  Hugh got two Bass on a white Spinnerbait.  Both barely legal.  I sat back and watched him fish, and was to polite to catch any myself.
Pam must have cracked it at being left at home alone, so she drove up to the Lowood bends and went to her favorite tree in the water.  She landed two around 40cm, one on a Spinnerbait and one on a Nichos hard body.
There were two other boats and about 6 yaks on the water on Sunday morning.  Water was clear, but cold.

Jeez you're a caring individual Dale. I particularly enjoyed the part about you being too polite to fish yourself, which was most considerate. Not to mention showing great restraint.
Cheers
John

In that case maybe we should chase a fish one day, and you can have the first cast.
Tight lines mate,
