Title: Cressbrook Dam
Post by: A Marshall on February 15, 2011, 10:32:27 AM
Hi Folks

Does anybody out there have any current info on Cressbrook. Looking at going up there for a night this Friday & was wondering if the camp grounds are open & what the access was like?

Cheers Andrew

I think you'll have to go through Toowoomba to get there.  We were in Esk on Saturday and the road is still closed at that end.  It's full and probably dirty and suffering from weeds dying off, but it'll still beat staying at home and mowing the lawn.

Andrew

I read on a website last night that the road into Cressbrook dam is closed due to flood damage and there was no date given to when it would be open again. I think it may have been the Mullet Gut Marine website..

Cheers

Thanks Sel, I got onto the Toowoomba council website this arvo & the dam is closed until further notice. I think it's going to be a while till things get back to normal around the ridges.
After a bit of a talk to a mate who is keen to come for a fish we decided that Maroon might be the go, unfortunatly it is also closed to all on water activities untill further notice due to water quality issues. Hopefully it will reopen by the weekend I really need to go fishing.

Cheers Andrew

I was told last week by Bunjey (Toney) that maroon was opend last week aswell as moogerah ? i did see a boat getting around moogerah.

If your going to head to maroon and wouldnt mind another tag along ill be hanging up my rod soon as i have to focus on other things till next season at least and may be my last fish.

What the websites say and what is fact with maroon and moogerah isnt wrong but out of timing sometimes. Good luck anyway wherever you end up.

I was at Maroon on Sat after the SEQ water site said it would be closed from Friday morning, but it was open.

Tony and i have agreed you cant trust what the SEQ water site says about maroon.

A bit hit and miss if they have it right.

Thanks guys, found out we have a fish release early Saturday morning at Somerset so have decided to do an overnighter up there.
CCFISHER am planning on getting up to Borumba sometime in March, I've got some new mazepops that need to be christened.

Cheers Andrew

The Toga are definitely on at Borumba...A good friend of mine got on to some this week from a canoe up there, it's certainly on my to do list to get back to Borumba now that I have a Torque kayak. It will be way easier to make it up to the trees with a Minn Kota on board.. All the fellas from ECKFC are heading to Glenlyon this weekend so lets hope some of us get onto a cod.

Good Luck at Somerset, Andrew...

Cheers

I hope this is wrong but I heard from a friend who knows someone in the Toowoomba council that it could be up to 12 months before there is access into Cressbrook again, surely this can't be right?

Cheers
