Bass on Fly Comp -  Maroon Dam - 1st weekend March 2011
Great weekend (wouldn't miss it myself) . A fundraising event for Variety Children organised by Jeremy Wakelin.
Camp Lake Fire is the venue.       Details & entry form varietyflyfishing.org.au

Wondering how one would go being a spectator of this event ? sounds very interesting and good to see if people can avoid the leo's.

Not sure what you have in mind being a spectator, but you can enter as a "skipper" for $20. Basically you driving the boat and the other person fishing.

If you're thinking of being a one-day Cricket type of spectator you could load up your boat with a good supply of ice-creams and lollies for the competitors :youbeauty

Hi Bushwacker Steve   Got your message. Have a look at SEQFlyfishers forum, they have 2 qualified casting instructors who have casting practice days . The club does a demo at the Olive Grove weekend, (Kerry).  Could catch up for a Maroon flyfish down the track, got some of last years winning flies here.
