Title: Somerset open.?
Post by: BG on March 14, 2012, 01:44:40 PM
It appears that Somerset Dam controlled release is now finished does that mean that it is open for fishing.

Can anybody give a report on this please.

Regards, BG

I think Somerset is open to boating, but that can change with any inflows & resulting releases from the dam.

The redclaw are going off apparently, 200 from 4 traps overnight a mate got last week.

The bass are supposed to be fishing pretty poorly at the moment, again that will change when a few boats get out there & find the fish. I'm trying to get a decent patch of weather on a free weekend to get up the feeder creeks / river arm to chase some Saratoga & cod.....

Video below is of flood release from Somerset a couple of weeks ago.

It was closed at 6.00pm last Saturday, not sure if it's reopened now.
