A great learning experience from the “Big Biodiversity Day” held by Oatlands District High School
Inland Fisheries staff last month accompanied Oatlands District High School students to Lake Dulverton to assist them in investigating a range of macro-invertebrates. These invertebrates are found in the weedy fringes of the lake and dip nets were provided to assist in collecting samples.
Students when then show how to take a closer look at the invertebrates using hand lenses. With help from the IFS team the students were then able to identify a diverse range of different species.
