Title: Grub gets slap on the wrist.

5 weeks community service and paying the vet bills for the victim.
Hardly commensurate with what he did.

$11,000 is hardly a slap on the wrist.  It wouldn't have cost him that much if he'd hit a person swimming.  I believe his defense was that he thought it would fly away before he hit it.  He was wrong, but I can't see a jail term warranted in this case.

Would've preferred to have seen him get a slap on the head by a speeding jetski. Can't believe the jetski was not confiscated. Whether it was his or not.
Cheers John.

The $11k is only the refund of the costs of the wildlife sanctuary, no actual fine component for what he did to the swan, no fine for behaving how he did on the jetski, no removal of licence. The last two particularly what I was thinking when I say he got off lightly.
