cr@p is the word!! just seen pic of a juvy in a cast net at goodna.. i am thinking of getting fisheries to do a survey below crosby to see what the numbers are.. get the hoe to slow release and maybe electro fish survey.. try and get an idea on infestation numbers

A few years ago, I remember reading a trip report on another forum, this fella was fishing off the bank in a creek at Rocklea( just near the Bunnings ). He had a 60cm euro on a brag mat.

Considering the flood brisbane had in 2011, I have often wondered when these pests would show up. Bugger !!

Thanks for the pic Wes.

Cheers,Dave.

If they are in the Bremer then they will be in the Brisbane River as well. Haven't seen any myself yet.

Cheers,

Graham

They'be been in the Brisbane River for at least four years now. Probly swum up the bay from the Albert/Logan.
Cheers John.

I guess the carp will be over the Mt Crosby weir now with the help of this flood. Time will tell I suppose. >:(

Apparently the eggs can still be viable for 7 days after the fish is dead. One reason to get them the hell away from the water.

Haven't seen them up that far before but there are a heap of them around rocklea, all you gotta do is walk around the creeks and you'll spot a them everywhere.

Nothing confirmed but I spotted some fish in the Brisbane where the Grigors Rd crosses it not far from Toolgoolwah.  Orange patches on them like pet Goldfish.  This was 18 months ago.  Might go back and check it out one day.
