Warwick Region Fishing report 16 October
« on: October 16, 2013, 10:12:19 AM »
LESLIE DAM: Leslie Dam fished quite well on Saturday with a number of anglers reporting on landing some nice fish.  One reported on landing some nice Golden Perch just opposite the dam wall on bait, while another had successful up near the "Black Boys" on blades.  The wind picked up on Sunday morning making conditions very tough.  There were reports of a few fish but numbers were down on Saturday.  One local angler caught a lovely Golden Perch up past the "Black Boys" while casting a Littlemax Blade.  The fish being caught have been quality fish.  One local angler managed to pick up 7 Golden Perch and a legal sized Murray Cod on Sunday afternoon.

CONNOLLY DAM: Connolly Dam is fishing reasonably well for the land based anglers.  We had reports of some nice fish being landed over the weekend on bait and mask vibes.  As mentioned in previous reports, Connolly is a great dam to fish during windy conditions as you can hide in one of the sheltered coves.

MOOGERAH DAM /MAROON DAM:  Moogerah has been fishing quite well with some nice Bass and Golden Perch landed in the timber on shrimps as well as TN60 Jackalls and MegaBass Power Bombs.  There were also some nice Bass landed on gold blades. Don't forget the Maroon Bluefin Fishing Classic being held over the weekend of November 15-17.  Some great prizes are on offer.  Brochures are available in store.

RIVERS / CREEKS: One local angler managed to land a couple of nice Murray Cod in the Condamine River at Canningvale on a spinnerbait.
There were also a few legal sized Golden Perch, Catfish and big Carp landed upstream of the "Mill" Hole.
