First Cod

We headed down to the Dumaresq for our first cod session of the season over the weekend.
My mates son has tagged along over the past four trips but has left empty handed each time; that changed this weekend when he finally landed his first cod.
It was well worth the hours of casting and paddling as he pulled in a very healthy 71cm cod, caught using a green jackhammer (Mac's Lures).
He lost his net and lip grips in the excitement of it all and also found out what a mess a cod can do to your fingers when you try to thumb grip them.
All in all it made our trip to see Kyle finally land that cod and a cracker at that.

Wow what a top looking fish  , I'm hoping to get a go at a cod over xmas , any size will do
