Warwick Region Fishing Report 19 December 2013

LESLIE DAM: Leslie Dam has been a little quieter over the past week.  Anglers have reported that the water level has dropped which may have been the cause for this.  There have been a few fish landed on bait.  One local angler reported of landing three Golden Perch up near the "Black Boys" while casting Jackalls.  Another angler landed six nice Golden Perch while trolling hard bodied bibbed lures near the boat ramp.  Green and Black were the choice of colours.  There was also a legal sized Murray Cod landed in Leslie Dam this week.

CONNOLLY DAM: Connolly Dam is also a little quiet.  There was the odd fish landed over the past week, mainly on bait.  Shrimps and Saltwater Yabbies prove to be the most successful bait.  The lure anglers didn't have as much success with only an odd fish landed on spinnerbaits.

MOOGERAH/MAROON DAM: Moogerah has seen a few nice Bass landed up in the timber on lures.  There were also some nice fish landed near the northern bank.  Maroon continues to fish consistently.  Fishing surface early in the morning is always a good option at Maroon.

SOMERSET DAM: Somerset is the standout location at present.  Anglers are reporting on good numbers of Bass.  The best places to try are Pelican Point and Kirkleagh.  Mask Vibes have been the choice of lures for most anglers.

RIVERS/CREEKS:  The Condamine River continues to fish quite well.  There were good sized Golden Perch and Murray Cod in the Pratten area on hard body lures.  There were also some nice Golden Perch landed downstream of the Scots Weir.
The Dalrymple Creek continues to fish quite well with some nice Golden Perch and the odd Murray Cod landed over the past week.
