The Banana Shire Council (BSC), the Shire’s Local Disaster Management Group, SunWater, the Department of Energy and Water Supply, the Department of Natural Resources and Mines, the Bureau of Meteorology and the State Disaster Coordination Centre are keeping the community informed on how the activities are progressing to address the recommendations of the independent review into the February 2015 Callide Creek flood event.
Banana Shire Council and SunWater are hosting a Community Information Day at the Callide Dam recreational area on Saturday, 10 October between 10am and 12pm. Representatives from various agencies will be attending the event to provide important information about local disaster management arrangements within the Banana Shire.
Tours of Callide Dam will be conducted which will provide an opportunity to view the spillway gates and operational aspects of the dam and ask any questions of SunWater staff facilitating the tours.
