Did a quick paddle on Seven Mile Lagoon on the Bremer River this arvo. The lagoon is far deeper than prior to the flooding over the past few years; I remember walking across ot once to get a snagged lure off. I recon its 20 - 25 feet deep in places now.
The water up there is looking very nice now, good structure, good color.
It very easy launching right next to the bridge crossing on Ipswich Rosewood Road.

Only fished for a maybe 20 minutes for a couple of hits and one nice mid 30s bass.
Will post some pics when I download them.

How long would the lagoon be there Fitzy? I've had a couple of looks there as I've cruised past for work, definitely looks fishy.
And do you think it is possible to do a trip (one-way) downstream towards Ippy from here in terms of the river width and portages.

G'Day Noddy,
Mate it's pretty skinny water in between the holes on the upper Bremer River. I wouldn't back myself to get through most of them without ALOT of scratches & portaging around log jams. There would without a doubt be alot of barbed wire fences across the upper Bremer, which is really more a creek than river apart from the occasional lagoon/hole.
Not trying to talk you out of it. I haven't to get through alot of it myself but I've walked a bit & just think a kayak would be more work than it saves. I'd be taking shanks' for a look first. But its all good fish water! Look out for Bremer River Browns tho.........
I've got some video of some skinny water here somewhere, will try to upload it in the next day or so to give you get an idea of what I'm talking about.

Thanks mate, thought it would be better to ask first. I still need to get a proper creek basher that's not 4.5m long.
