Title: new england cod fishing

hey guys. im new to this website. im heading down to the new england region this weekend chasing some murray cod out of my kayak. ive never caught a murray cod (have got a mary river cod) so hopefully will get a couple. was wandering if anyone has been down that way and had any luck. any tips or info would be great. thanks heres a pic of my mary cod a got a few months ago out of my yak on the sunny coast

Mate I'd give either Copeton Dam or Glen Lyon. If you want to try the rivers the Severn River in the gorges is good but you'll have to go on private property either Jimargi or go on line and check out what comes up when you type in New England Cod fishing. Obviously no one is going to hand out their personal spots on a website, but have a chat to Brian Dare at Glen Lyon.

Anywhere from Mingoola to Goondiwindi on the Dumaresq-Macintyre system is the go. Drop the yak in at any of the bridge crossings or from camping reserves and start casting at snags .

If you are going to keep one for a feed, you are better off going to Glenyon dam and taking a stocked fish.
