Title: Operahouse pot 60mm modification.
Post by: rayke1938 on September 25, 2010, 05:29:26 PM
I damaged one of my pots when I snagged it on a stump and being of scottish decent was loth to purchase a new one when I have a few old pots in the shed.
The only problem is that they have either 90mm or 100mm openings.

This one is a 90. I can fit 4 fingers into the opening.

Rather than go to all the trouble of mnaking a smaller wire ring and also having to retie the cross tension cords I just thread a cable tie through the net adjacent to the existing ring and then tighten the tie till the entrance is reduced to 60mm.

Saved myself $5 and helped reduce bycatch for an outlay of a few cents for a couple of cable ties.
Cheers

Well done Ray. I might re-create the Hint n Tips board that was in the old forum. Recon alot of folks might get some use from this. Be a shame to see it lost down the list....

Cheers,

Fitzy..

The good old Scotsmen, the original money savers of the world.  You know the toilet seat was actually invented in Ireland, but then the Scots got a hold of it and cut a hole in the middle to save wood.
