Title: Weir River - Flood Warning

FLOOD WARNING FOR THE WEIR RIVER
Issued at 10:07 AM on Sunday the 3rd of October 2010
by the Bureau of Meteorology, Brisbane.

 
Minor to moderate flooding is occurring along the Weir River between Giddi Giddi South and Mascot, with a moderate flood peak currently in the Surrey area.
River rises and major flooding are occurring further downstream at Jericho.
 
Moderate flood levels are approaching a peak on the Weir River at Surrey, where at 8am Sunday the river level was steady at 5.17 metres and slowly nearing a peak.

River levels continue to rise along the Weir River downstream of Surrey. Major flooding has already exceeded the January 2008 flood peak of 3.08 metres at Jericho, where at 8am Sunday the river level was 3.23 metres and rising slowly.

Minor flooding is also rising slowly further downstream at Mascot.

A flood warning is current for the Barwon River in NSW.

Moderate flood levels continue to ease slowly on the lower Macintyre River at Terrewah.

 

Weather Forecast:
Drizzle and showers over eastern parts, isolated showers developing over western
parts during the day.
