Anyone have advice for catching threadys in the karalee area, I have been launching at riverside, trolling alittle, and live prawns for bait. Cheers Andy

You're doing the right thing but I would be inclined to also try the lower reaches of the river near the gateway area for example. No doubt you have seen other reports of threadies in the river and that may guide you to potential hotspots as well. Good luck.

Yes,it's amazing what is in our rivers locally. We should never take them for granted. There is certainly more to the brisbane river than eels, catfish and bull sharks when it comes to fish stocks.

What would be the best approach to target them? Lures, baits?

Now the weather is warming up i would give soft plastic lures a try, particularly shad style, say 75 to 100mms long. Any reasonable size quality hardbodies also. Small live mullet or fresh fish flesh would work also but i would be thinking the problem there would be that eels, sharks and catfish might become a problem. Good quality sizeable prawns may be a good idea also.
