Well? Where's the reports from the codgers?
-
Wheelbarrow and I landed 7 cod and one golden perch between us yesterday on the Dumaresq River. Got smoked by one which was fun while it lasted.
A quick flick on the Mole River we got zip. 50 mm of rain upstream has it running a little dirty.

StevenM, Squarebear(aka "The Jeff" ) and I managed 6 cod and 6 yellas yesterday. Got another 5 this morning down near texas and a yella as well. Squarebear dropped a big unit off the same snag that I have previously ( earlier in the year) been smoked off. At least he got a good look at the big fella.
Cheers,
Dave.

Big unit is quite the understatement. The big bugger was starting to loose the green about him and take on that pale whitish look. I had hold of the leader and had his head out of the water while I dicked around fumbling for the lip grippers. Perhaps 5 secs. As I put them toward his lower jaw, he spat a very bent out of shape quad spinner. BUGGER!
Lessson: Preparation is key and don't leave the landing net in the back of Steve's car. Plenty of room in the Commander. The Jeff is a great big Dickhead! Thanks but I don't need any endorsements of that sentiment from Dale, SteveM, Fitz, Wheelbarrow or Dave and I don't care what any-one else thinks.

:Clap)

The Jeff is not the only one to do something like that.

I got to go to the Queen Street Mall, Christmas shopping and then attend a "Murder Mystery" fancy dress night at the Sebel in town. Where do you think I'd have rather been? At least I got to play Big Chief Breaking Wind. I gave acting a whole new level of realism!

We got to do this Dale :)

Toni and I fished the gravel pit up on Sunday for 4 cod and a yella. This morning we went to the Mole for a few hours but got nothing so headed back to the gravel pit and went downstream for 2 cod. Biggest for the weekend went 62cm.

What a blast of a time over the past 24hrs!!Wayne and I headed out early sunday morning to open our cod accounts.Final tally was 3 cod for Wayne and a new pb and I managed 3 cod as well and a new pb and plus a beautiful Yella.Highlight of the sessions was having a cod hit the spinnerbait twice before coming up under the lure only 1m or so from the yak, eyeballing it and smashing it from just under the surface!!!
Looking forward to next time!!
:thanks to my awesome guide!
