Lake Moogerah
« on: September 24, 2010, 06:21:32 PM »
Hey guys,

Fished at Moogerah for the first time in my life today , and was very impressed . This lake had a very bad fish kill back in 07 , hence I haven't bothered going there before . My beter half outfished me again , she caught 6 Bass and 4 Yellowbelly , I only managed 5 Bass and one Yellowbelly . Her biggest yella went 43cm , mine went 42cm. All the bass were small, 20-30cm . We both missed plenty of fish , a heap of hits , many dropped off after a good run . All the rocky points seemed to be holding fish , well that was what the sounder said . I slept in , so we hit the lake at 10am and were off the water a little after 2pm ( lucky because the rain was on its way ). Hope you enjoy the pics.

Cheers,
Dave.

Bushwacker,

We mainly fished around the gorge , took the long way back to the boat ramp via the net at the wall and the point below the kiosk . The successful lures were Tilsan Bass Dynamite T117( in fluro pink and fluro green ) , 55mm Stump Jumpers and Ecogear sx60F ( clear orange ). Either trolled or cast.

Steve,

"Might have to drag some of those yellas to te dubba  "

Tell me about it !!!I can't remember the last yella I got in Wivy.

Cheers,
dave.

All I can say is that you've taught Allison well Dave, congratulations for turning her into an excellent fishing lady.  Good work.

Well done folks, good to see Moogerah is coming back to health.
I have only fished it once since the fish kill & the ski boats made it nearly impossible to fish, will have to get back out there soon.

Cheers Andrew

Headed out to Moogerah yesterday with the kids & ended up with one fish each. Plenty of fish showing on the sounder & heaps of water in the dam. The falls in the gorge were roaring.

Cheers Andrew
