Closure of boat ramps at Great Lake

Hydro Tasmania have advised that only one formally recognised boat ramp remains open at Great Lake.

Prior to Christmas 2015, Cramps Bay and Swan Bay boat ramps were closed as they were not usable with current lake levels. This month (January 2016), Tods Corner, Haddens Bay and Brandum Bay boat ramps have been closed. The five ramps will remain closed until water levels increase.

The low level boat ramp at Boundary Bay remains open on the western shore of Great Lake. The turn off to the ramp is located on the Lake Highway approximately 7km north of the Marlborough Highway intersection. Further information about the Boundary Bay boat ramp is available at www.hydro.com.au/community/sites/central-plateau-area/boundary-bay-boat-ramp

Please show courtesy to other users by parking your vehicles and trailers at least 50 metres away from the Boundary Bay foreshore launching area, and observe the no camping areas.

Up to date information on access to water bodies managed by Hydro Tasmania is available at www.hydro.com.au/community/recreational-sites
